Who is the owner, Mike Schafer?
Mike Schafer, a proud native of Indianapolis’ south side, relocated to the western suburbs of Chicago at the age of 15, graduating from Batavia High School in 2002. His passion for construction sparked early, as he took building trades classes, where he helped construct two homes from the ground up. After high school, Mike served as a boatswain’s mate in the U.S. Navy, sharpening his discipline and problem-solving skills.
Post-Navy, Mike built a robust career in construction and project management. He served as an operations manager for a furniture rental company in Indianapolis, and he managed roofing and renovation projects for construction firms in Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, and Florida. He thrived as a lead project manager for a residential construction company. Most recently, he oversaw construction management for roofing businesses, perfecting his craft in delivering high-quality results.
Mike’s expertise stems from a lifetime of learning, starting as a curious kid watching his grandpa and dad work. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, Mike launched Nexis Construction to bring his unmatched skill, honesty, and dedication to every project.
